Whether we WANT to do it is a different matter. It’s our emotional journey we need to keep a handle on. No point taking a step in one direction if the whole of your being is pulling against that manoeuvre. Conflict, friction, frustration occur. Also a whole heap of ‘stuck’ and inability to action things and be as potent as I usually am.
Career Coaching: lockdown 2.0
There’s a process to regaining strength in Lockdown. Reconciling these feelings and resistances in me is essential if I’m gonna move through them and make progress.
How? I need to stop for long enough to hear what’s not working in me. The parenting I received was WAY to bust to attend to these experiences within me when I was small. As an adult, I need to do this differently. Hearing the inner protest of ‘sh*t, here we go again!’. Soothing the layers of healing that happened in the first round. Acknowledging there will be more to come and that I’ll stay with myself and be present to what comes…
Doubling down on the self-care, the running, juicing, drumming…. calling in the team of supervisors, business coaches, my colleagues, and my spirit allies for the ride. Making the most of the simple things: nature, good food, valued community.
