Motherhood is an extraordinary journey… Yeah I watched others take the trip and decided it looked like it would change far too much of my world. Only when I did it myself did I realise just how profound the changes would be for me.
So I learned I really could go nights with literally no sleep and still get up to do the invoicing for my decorating business. Whilst taking care of a newborn. I learned just how strong I was.
Simultaneously I lost the ability to cross roads with any certainty, hovering fearfully on one side of a busy local road, where prior to birth I had taken this same journey without a second glance…
& without me even noticing my value system changed. I began to really appreciate the sheer hard graft my earlier producing friends had put in day in and day out for years. I did begin to see that people who hadn’t committed to this journey could be prone to self-centredness and who wouldn’t be given the chance! And what on earth are we doing to our environment….??? I became myself and then some….
