Take time to reflect and dream.

I just gave myself a whole morning to reflect on the business journey  I have taken over that last year. I’ve given myself the gift of time in which to choose where I shall go in the next one. It is really easy in the rush of life to forget to engage with this process.

With clients and business and family and life and all the exciting things that seem to happen in our days, it is indeed easy to simply let it do just that. Let. Life. Happen. To. Us.

So, time to reflect, time to evaluate, to add, amend or adjust. Time to celebrate all i have achieved. Time to reward myself with raw chocolate cake and feel the echoes and implications of decisions made and actions instigated. Not only assessing how my plot, cooked up a year ago, has progressed, but also feeling the resonance of those unplanned outcomes and unexpected joys.

This is the way I get to have some say in how the next bit goes. By assessing all that has gone by, integrating the impact, and choosing from this new place, what will serve me best in the upcoming months.

In 6 months or a years time I shall be repeating the process. Likewise, no doubt, my reflecting will be enriched with unexpected gains. To devise my own route map now, to know the thread that pulls me forward, means I can let go of the outcome.

This is time well spent, rich in rewards generated in the recent past and with potential for the future.
