Put Your Face On!
There is a purpose to this phrase for me, it means ‘putting on the mantle’ or being the defender of a particular position.
We all have many a role in our lives. In a day I move between coach, mother, wife, supervisor, domestic goddess (!), accountant, confidante, marketing manager, et al ……….& sometimes I don’t wanna do it!
Ooh that feels naughty to write, but at times it seems much more appealing to curl up on the sofa with a cat & a book……. And, usually, that cannot happen.
So in order to be the best coach or mother that I can be, I compose my expression, apply my mascara (even if I am working on the telephone!), and make the to be totally present and accessible.
I realise this might sound like some kind of 50’s ‘how to please your husband’ advice column. If you have met me, you will know this is not my way(!), it has a deeper echo for me. This works: The setting of my intention, the conscious choice to set and defend my position and the responsibilities that come with it, is what enables the next session or task to flow.
All that has to be done is to ‘ put our face on’ and show up, in order to invite all the forces to support us & carry us forward in our mission.
