Reflecting on being reflective

En famille is perhaps the most challenging context to bring a new self to. To reflect rather than react. Old buttons. Ingrained ways of assuming and acting. Not toxic just non-serving.

Important to pause, as with a client, check internally, check contextually, check the individual in front of of me….. Not ‘mum’ or ‘step-brother’, but fellow-human, a person with fears & needs & desires.

To observe, to reflect, to consider, to honour kindness as opposed to defensiveness or resentfulness of past……To begin anew, every time.
