The Balancing Act:

We humans are multifaceted and complex. With the stresses we face in life it is easy to get out of balance. Sometimes it is difficult to tell what the problem is & thus it seems impossible to solve.

The most effective diagnostic tool I know of is the wheel of life:

The Wheel of Life Exercise
Why does this work? Because it very quickly enables an individual to identify which sector(s) are in difficulty.

The ideal result, when we humans are perfectly balanced, is as near to a ten in every sector. And with all the sections scoring wthin a point of so of each other. This way, if the wheel is turned, the rotation is smooth and the journey easy.

In reality, if an individual senses something is amiss in their lives, there will inevitably be a couple of sections that score low. In this case, a wheel of this shape used on any vehicle would be a very bumpy ride indeed…..

So this tool will not tell you what is amiss, but it will show you where to start to look. It will lead to the discussion regarding the large indentations, that will, eventually identify the causes.

Often the causes, even of a very low scoring section, are not acute. Often large indents are actually chronic. They are are the areas where a small dissatisfaction or unhappiness has been left to fester over a long period of time…..

Thus, even a large dent in an individual’s score may not take such a long time or a huge adjustment in order to rebalance their wheel. The very process of accurately identifying the difficulty may make up 90% of the reparation.

Time well spent perhaps?
