Grab the Sunlight!
In blazing offices and centrally heated homes it is easy to forget we need the essential vitamins provided by real sunlight and fresh air.
In our synthesised environments we easily lose touch with the rhythms and cycles of the year.
Whilst in our bodies we may know we needs a good dose of vitamin D, we use our minds to dismiss ourselves and plough on regardless.
When its dark outside and we would naturally be resting in deepest winter, instead we stare later into the evening into computer screens and smart phones, attempting to get that report finished.
Conversely, at midday, when the sun shines brightly, we ignore this too, probably staring at computer screens and mobiles in our attempts to get our work finished in time…..
We all know the benefits of sunlight: vitamin D conversion, reduced SAD. Reduction in aches, pains and even (paradoxically) cancer. Our wise bodies also know the benefits and immediately feel better for being in Receipt of sunlight and fresh air.
So instead of over-ruling ourselves, perhaps try indulging yoyrself and your whole being in the elements for five minutes a day….. There’s nothing like beautiful bright sunshine on a bitterly cold day to remind you that you are alive. This has to benefit you professional attitude as well as in your personal world.
