Career Coaching Definition

The definition of career coaching will, in all honesty, be different according to which coach you approach. Some will focus literally on the goals and your CV. Some will be willing to explore wider possibilities and the beliefs that lie beneath that sabotage your dreams. There are transpersonal career coaches, systemic career coaches, rudimentary CV coaches. There are also ALL the types of career coaches in between.

So, all I can do as a career coach is tell you what it is I bring.

Environment: what’s worked for it other past. What hasn’t and what your ideal working environment will be

Behaviour: looking at what you have been doing and saying that has brought you yo this place in your career. We will also look at what those around you ate doing and saying. We will then explore what you would like to be doing and saying instead ..

We will gather the ginormous raft of your Capabilities to encourage you to take ownership of the skills, knowledge and personal attributes you already hold.

We will explore Your Beliefs as well as you Core Values. This way we will know what has been driving your decision and what underlins your wise decisions going forward.

We will explore your Identities – you will already have had plenty. We will then explore what the qualities of your future identity needs to have – you will know by this stage of the process what you will not compromise.

We will then explore Your ‘Purpose’. When you know your ‘why’ you are unstoppable.

When we have gathered ALL this information – I will read it back to you. There is nothing quite like being able to see your magnificence from the outside for being a great platform to be able to pivot into designing you five or ten year career plan.
