Career Coaching: Further Support?

Career Coaching: Further Support?

“What further support is available to me once it all done.” asked a client who was considering hiring me.

You’d think after three months we are doe right?  When I first began this work with my clients, I too imagine they would fly off into the sunset to fulfill their five or ten year plans.

AND, It has come to my attention over the last 13 years that some people want to check back in with our coaching relationship for a variety of reasons:

Firstly, I don’t know if you have noticed ( !!! )  but, life doesn’t always go to plan….

— Divorce, pandemic, economic uncertainty….. none of which appear to be directly related to work can nevertheless throw a professional trajectory WAY off beam – and OMG 😱 is it useful to have somebody who knows the WHOLE you already, to problem-solve WITH you.

Secondly, some clients book in a regular slot after our initial work has come to an end. Accountability is a really strong motivation when initiating big professional chance and you’re out of your comfort zone — interestingly people will do things for me that they refuse to do for themselves…. Be it every month or every six months, people do return over and over again to touch base.

You will also leave our work together with Your Team: Be you promoted, in a new sector or if you have initiated a new enterprise – you will always know who in work, life, and business, that has your back. You will know who to celebrate with, who’s best to commiserate with, who will refuse to let you lie on you face and sulk when things go wrong.

We will do this work in our sessions together  — I am a firm believer that none of us should be trying to take these journeys alone. Thus, I will never foster dependence on the coaching process. I will make myself available when you ask. I have a multitude of cross sector, talented professionals on my books too.

Someone I value deeply said these words the other day – ‘this is my life’s work. I’m not going anywhere so come and find me’

That landed

And, The same applies
