Career Coaching: Legacy

I’m writing this sitting by my Dad’s death bed and it made me think about what we leave behind when we go.

With his impending demise, our world here has shrunk a little. The noise of social media and wider acquaintances has faded into the mists whilst we focus on the journey in front of us.

Communicating only with immediate family and the kindness of professionals… the question of  “what’s it all for?” Rumbles around me, my heart, mind and soul

It has to be about LOVE – whatever form that takes. What we contribute when we are on this planet has to be about Love.

I love with Humour and also with Challenge.

I love by encouraging people to be the very best they can be whilst they are here on this planet.

This impact in itself is WAY bigger than I ever anticipated because when each individual is living their very BEST life, that impacts every person around them — this in turn has a ripple effect.

I will never know how far this actually goes and, in reality it is absolutely none of my business

However, just knowing that my combination of straight-talking, encouragement and hilarity translates into those people I work with becoming the people they were born to be, then, my work here is done.

I can see The Love around Dad. I can see that what he receives now is in direct measure to that love he has given out across the last 80 years.
