Career Coaching Your Kids
Is it wise to be career coaching your kids? If you ask my opinion, I would say No!
I say this because you’re too close to your kids to coach them – the relationship is WAY to complicated and multilayerd.
Of course you “know your kids better than anyone” – BUT, what assumptions are you making????
How might you be getting in their way?

I would also advise not to career coach any of your immediate relatives or lovers? Why? Because you BOTH have way too much of a vested interest
I don’t. – and I had to learn the hard way. I found I could not coach my husband when he retired — I actually paid another career coach to handle that entire experience.

You obviously have the very best interests of your nearest and dearest at heart
However; what they can do is obscure THEIR best interests from having their rightful place in the process.
We each have an agenda. We each have assumptions. We each have our own view on what would be best for the person we love.
But, is that what they want? And do they need our interference???
Maybe what they really need is a blank canvas upon which they can project THEIR wishes so they can find their way
Maybe WE need to get right out of THEIR way too! — Just a thought
If you don’t want to obstruct a loved one’s career progression – do send them my way so they can find their own way.
