Career Guidance for the Courageous

Have you got a new idea? My Career Guidance: Courageous would be to protect that new growth. I don’t know about you, but in my enthusiasm for new things, or indeed in my need to approval, I can expose my new idea to all sorts of people who aren’t in a position to be kind to it.
Sometimes it is better that I do not expose this new seedling’s growth to the frost of other’s opinions.

This is not about a lack of generosity to or a fear that the new idea might be stolen by others. This protectiveness is more about the nurturing of potential not yet realised.
It is no coincidence that at this time of year, as the small green tender shoots begin to show above the soil, we humans too might have the new shoots of ideas. What you will notice in nature is that new growth is only taking place in sheltered places, where this is plenty of sunlight. You will also note that these new shoots are not yet tall or wide as they experiment with the risks of life above ground.

Career Guidance: Courageous

We humans would benefit from taking our lead from nature. In the beginning, we need to stay low to the ground. We need to only show ourselves where we will benefit from the warmth of others-encouragement. We need to protect the energy of our idea by refraining from overextending ourselves before we are ready. We need to allow for organic development that’s us sustainable and enjoyable

If you are anything like me: By which I mean active, over responsible, enthusiastic and of the belief that ‘ if I don’t make it happen then no one will’, then this trust will take practice. See how much trust you can put in the process rather than the action. Set your intention and focus your energy on protecting and nourishing that intent rather than driving it forward come what may.
Career Guidance: Courageous
It might just grow stronger for your nurturing then for your flogging. It might develop more sustainably for your protection than your overexposure to criticism or diminishing of others.
