Career Catastrophe? Here’s a Suggestion

I am told there are two ways to look at our experiences: We can choose to judge out disappointments as “the things that went wrong”. Or, we can choose to see them as opportunities for learning and growth. If you’re having a career catastrophe and you fancy trying out the second route then below is one way of doing so. Here are four questions that can enable you to tease out your career answers when you hit a tough spot

Firstly: Draw your career catastrophe. Feel it as you do so, engage with the sensation of being ‘in’ it. Fear not! You need show Nobody your masterpiece:).
Next: Clear yourself a safe place, where you will not be interrupted. Breathe in to create space within you & connect with you career catastrophe

If you were a teacher (feel the catastrophe) what is the lesson I can share with others in their career …? Listen

Write down the results, the words you hear, the emotions or sensations you have. You may not ‘like’ what you hear, but, I can guarantee they will be useful.

Your Own Career Guidance Qualification

Now, close the book and go and treat yourself. Do something you enjoy and which is low risk. You have just worked very hard. You have just accessed bits of your own brain which are usually hidden from you, in order to reconnect with your inherent wisdom. This is what qualifies you to provide your own career guidance. Return to these answers when you are ready to, an hour or a day later, and let them guide you in You career seeking.
This is one way to benefit From those things we believe are disastrous. In reality, they hold nuggets of invaluable wisdom that can guide us onwards
