What do you write about?

Is a question I get asked often when people notice a blog every week day. The first rule is show up. Nothing will get written if I don’t write. Some days I do not want to write. These days are usually the days I need to write and I learn most.  The second rule is I write about what I know.
Every day there is something I experience that touches me or makes me curious. Every single coaching session there will be something that causes me to question what humans do, or what I do, as I walk alongside them them in their professional development.
I am endlessly curious about what motivates people, and also what prevents them from achieving their goals.
I love to get deep down and dirty and really understand what it feels like to experience the world from a client’s perspective. I love to shine a little light in the dark corners so that once we have brushed the cobwebs aside, we can see what nuggets of wisdom reveal themselves.
I love to learn new things. I really love to help people make the best of what they have already got. Reflective writing enables both. Sometimes you already know just what it is that needs to be done, but only in saying or in the writing of the words do you discover this knowing.
So this is what I write about, every day. The curiosities and learnings of a coach as she explores what is new and what is already there, uncovering the good bits and sometimes choosing to jettison the rest.
