You know you love your profession when….

You ask for some guidance and, when you get it, your heart sings.
I just asked a trusted colleague for some marketing guidance. She’s qualified. She’s bright. She knows me well and she ‘gets’ what I’m trying to do and also why.
So as I read her email regarding ‘choosing this’ and ‘asking that’ and ‘researching the other’ and ‘putting in some time on the next bit’, I realised that there was a whole heap of work involved with this!
What I also noted was that as I assessed the number of tasks, my spirits lifted….. Now that’s an unusual feeling to have when a myriad of tasks fall into your lap when you are already juggling, a LOT!
And that’s how I know that I love what I do. The avenues that opened up were long term paths of possibility. They were invitations to delve deeper into issues I care passionately about. They are nudges to both upskill myself and share my knowledge in order to empower others. They are explorations that will fullfill me and give me joy!
