Are You an ‘Active’ Personality Type?

I don’t know if this applies to you, but I have had it pointed out to me (often actually!), that the professional commitments I make and the responsibilities i shoulder, and the expectations I have of myself sometimes do not honour my human needs.
It is not clients or business partners that cop the brunt of my ‘can-do’ attitude, for, once i have made a plot, I show up. It is myself and those who love me who bow under the weight of all I said I would, and indeed want to, do.
It has been revealed to me that I go from zero to 100mph in seconds, with scant regard for the consequences, merely out of enthusiasm. This is not wholly a ‘bad’

thing. I hope I am always energised and enthusiastic and full of the joys of the work that I do and the life that I have……
The bit that needs attending to is probably an element of impatience that sends me a message that says:
“If you are not making it happen then it never will”.
So I am active personality type. There is nothing either right or wrong about this preference of mine. What is needed is a little bit of trust that if I take a step back, that the process or project that I have initiated, has its own momentum now. I need to keep practicing having trust that it is healthy for both myself and my project to allow it a little space to take its own course…..
So it seems it is not about curbing my enthusiasm at all. It seems it might be about encouraging and growing the trust that I can put in my project, in the people with whom I collaborate, and in the universe. On the whole we know, and have seen it over and over, that when an idea is right, things seem to kind of align themselves in support of it. The right person or funding or idea pops right up without us having to do too much…. And perhaps cultivating that trust and putting just a little distance between ourselves and our current passion, can allow for these synchronous people and ideas, the space to be seen and recognised for the real value they bring…..
Sometimes I need to back off!
So what is it you might need to attend to, in yourself, that would smooth your professional world?
