Are You In Your Element?

I was watching a colleague of mine practising her fire-fan display and I suddenly really understood what it meant to ‘be in ones element’. Watching this beautiful woman embody a whole new, confident facet of herself was a real privilege.
She was in the zone, in tune with the flames, she was absolutely aligned with what she was doing and her intention that at effect was mesmerising and quite startling. This is an individual who is undeservedly reticent about coming forward, for she has many talents, yet in this instance this was a total irrelevance, she had stepped right into her natural element. She was fire.
This is just how it is when someone gives themselves the permission to earn a living doing the thing they are really passionate about. Suddenly the threat of the ‘audience’ dissolves and all that matters is the here and now.
And in the here and now that person absolutely embodies their role.
By no means am I suggesting that anyone should go into business with no funding, business plan, or notion of how they wish the future to look. What I am saying is that once those structural things are in place, that totally living your chosen career is the best place from make your next decision.
If you are enjoying what you are doing, if it consumes your heart and mind, then you will know your next move. No marketing strategy, SEO guru or blogging specialist can compensate for the gap left by the the lack intuiting and heartfelt provision of a service to clients who really benefit from it. It is the dance in the moment that is your fuel. It is the responsive and agile actions that really meet the needs. These experts can certainly aid your business development but there is no substitute for revelling being right in your element and building the journey from within.
