Business Decisions Based in Reality.

The power of walking alongside, and I mean physically really walking, is phenomenal. A majority of the coaching sessions I provide are static. Sitting across from the client, albeit with a beautiful view, we metaphorically journey together. However sometimes it’s much more effective to travel alongside each other in real time.
When I client learned by preference kinaesthetic way, the physicality of walking helps the processing and internalisation of new information. When I client needs to take a big journey into the past before they can move forwards, it is useful to walk through that history, in order to be able to leave it behind, and step into their futures. When a client is particularly stuck and is unable to see the wood for the trees, physically moving through the real work can get the energy flowing so that whatever holds them back can be jettisoned. If a clients can only see things in a way that is not serving them, then using the gestalt approach in order to enable them to acknowledge that the same thing, seen from a different place can seem entirely new, can help them realise it can be a matter of choosing perspective….
We have been discouraged in our society and our education from using our body as a learning tool. We learned to ignore the environments we love, work and learn it. We tend to accept that thus us just how it is, especially as many of these institutions represent ‘authority’. Surely they must know the best way for it to be done?
We have been made to be cerebral in hot classrooms with lots of thoughts and words. We have been examined under silence and time pressures. We have been encouraged on the whole to work only from the neck up.  In reality we are while human beings who’s brains really only function best when we are informed not only by our bodies (which are extremely wise!), but by our environment and our context too.
We humans are made up of many facets, both internal and external. When we reference as many facets as possible as we learn, our decisions are likely to much better informed and thus this much more effective.
When we understand the impact of using information holistically, from our hearts and minds, our bodies and our environments, then them then our choices are, put simply, much more likely to work because they will be based in a whole reality.
