Communicating with Ones & Zeros
Is it effective to career coach online? My answer is a qualified yes. The ‘qualifying bit’ is that it needs to be coaching with a Human, not a Bot. See “Deep Work” by Cal Newport if you want to know more about the unique depth that humans will need to bring if we are to make the best use of AI …
“A good career coach can work across any platform.”
What has really struck me over the past eight years of practising is how energy translates over any digital platform. When I created and published my site (which is only a series of ‘Ones & Zeros’ right?) it magnetised exactly the clients who I adore working with … just with a pattern of ‘Ones & Zeros’ yeah?
If you are not convinced then apply this to your own life. When did you last receive a text that in its content was purely functional, but in essence, your gut told you something was amiss? What if the words were merely an arrangement to meet your head told you ‘there is nothing to be read between the lines’. When you talked to the sender, did you find you were right? There was something, an emotion, beneath those words…. it’s just a series of ‘Ones & Zeros’ yeah?
So if Einstein was right and energy cannot be destroyed, then perhaps understanding DOES translate, human to human, across any platform?
Early coaching training was in triads, and, given that the course participants were scattered all across the UK, a lot of that took place via the telephone. It worked, the energy translated.
It IS possible to Career Coach Online
Much of my work today takes place via Skype. My head still tells me’ this cannot work as well as face to face engagement’. The deep quality of the connection and the effective outcomes of the work, the testimonials all evidence that it does. It works, the energy translates.
I would always prefer to work face to face. And, I also absolutely know that coaching via email, or any other digital platform is equally effective. A good career coach can work across any platform.
