Career Coaching:
“I don’t want to be sold to”
And, I don’t want to be ‘sold to” is exactly how I feel when I’m considering a potentially life-changing decision too. — What I really want in those moments is someone to give me the information. I then want to take myself away so that I can make my own decision. I need time to let all the things that have been shown to me, to allow them to percolate down inside my being.

The thing that is GUARANTEED to make me jettison the whole decision process is if anyone pressures me to ‘buy’ when I’m still in situ. I WILL bail, walk away and you will never see me again. Yes, even if in hindsight I decide it might have been the right thing, I will probably stay away because I walked away — I am that stubborn!

So, perhaps there are some things that you need to know about my side of this process – this is how things look to me as The Coach.

Firstly, after 12 years in the industry, I will only work with the clients who are right for me too. I’m pretty attuned to who is a good fit and who is not. This clarity serves me and serves the client too. The last thing I wish for in my working life is to be trapped for three months at a time in a dynamic with someone who is not my kind of client – It is not worth any kind of money to be trying to work with someone who is resisting me every step of the way. And, that would a total waste of time for You too.

So, let us not do that then – I have helped to birth a lot of other coaches in the last decade. I also know a hell of a lot of other coaches in the industry that I rate highly  – I’m really happy to signpost you on if we are not the right fit. Surely this is good for everyone.

And, secondly,  divine timing is everything. A potential client might not be ready to do this work now. And, that doesn’t mean that they will never be ready… Sometimes people come back around to work with me several years after we have first met. I am unattached to the time scale. I’ll be here because this is what I do. 
.
The rule I DO have is I will not do this work FOR you. You have to be ready to do it for yourself. If we need to wait? Then, let’s do that. This is what I do, I’m not going anywhere. I will have OUR best interests at heart. All I can do is extend the invitation – what you do with that is entirely up to You. 
.
Maybe that explains why I will ever sell to you – it has to be your decision, taken in your own time and, you have to be ‘In’ 100% for you for this to work
