Career Coaching: Rebellion — I broke my own bloody rules (AGAIN!!!)
In April of this year, I carved out a new ‘default diary” to protect my sanity. I closed the doors of the business to new clients:
Taking part in a research PhD had shown me that I was seriously burning out trying to launch my second business. I also suffered from Compassion Fatigue — having heard all my clients’ and supervisees’ covid related-trauma for two years. I was ALL done. — I needed to get to the point where I was only client-facing for half the day. This brings in plenty of income.

More importantly, it gives me the time to attend to the other aspects of my business world. Not just the inevitable admin but also the building of the new business, the editing of the book, and the shamanic practitioner work….

And YET, six months later, I realised it was all getting out of control again!

My diary for Tuesday said: “8.30 am client. 10 am client. 11.30 am client. 2 pm Client. 4 pm Client. 6 pm client.”
.
Bearing in mind that most of those client sessions are 90 minutes each…. And, that Thursday’s diary was not dissimilar…. I’m taking action once again! I had slipped back into saying ‘Yes’ to my beautiful client base when realistically, I am not sustainable operating for any length of time at this level.

I AM A SUCCESS …

AND, I am also responsible for my own well-being. I ADORE my clients. Doing the deep dive with them that enables them to blossom and radiate with professional purpose.

AND, I am responsible for maintaining the quality of the coaching and supervision work I do with and for clients.
.
This has to STOP!
.
So, once again, in celebration of the beautiful work we do as “coach and client”, I will be closing the doors to new clients for a further six months.
.
I am offering two places of the 6-month opportunity of long-term work to two more brilliant/disruptive individuals who need to carve out the time to work out if they should stay or go …. We can do Exit Strategy or Change Management – As we work together, the choice will become clear.
