Returning to the Centre.

In moments of rage and despair it is too easy to forget that there was a time of enjoyment before this ‘present’, or indeed that there shall be anything beyond it. I am living proof, as indeed are you, that there is life after hurt.
I believe it is a Buddhist belief that the measure of our wellbeing is not that we remain centred at all times, but how swiftly we return to it when something has unbalanced us.
If we were entirely untouched by the challenges we and others face in this life, we would be robots. The trick is knowing how and with whom to rebalance ourselves.
It us drawing swiftly on the techniques we have developed and the support network we have built and the experts that we trust. This is the key to our recovering. This is how we step back from a bruising experience to a place of potency.
