Transition: A Hard Task Mistress

Transition is a really hard task mistress and is the difference between ‘change’ and ‘transition’. Dspite our fears, the practicality of change is far more immediately and outwardly rewarding, than the internal root-deep excavation of transition.
Transition can be an isolating and lonely path. It is the time when we choose a different way, set off hopeful, only to grieve the path we have left. For all it’s flaws at least it was a known quantity and that has a comfort all in itself.
Transition is where we choose over and over, over and over again, to engage differently and to behave in new ways. The re-choosing is exhausting and there is little to show for all the efforts we exert.
Transition is where we prepare emotionally and psychologically for the change and it is an inward and downward reaching, that is invisible to others, and gains no acknowledgement from simply because nobody can see it….
The worse bit is perhaps that this is a game of will. She who blinks first, loses. So whilst there is no evidence this transition process will work, we need to hold onto an invisible thread of belief and trust that this will indeed blossom if we wait it out….
So if we think change is hard, transition is really challenging. Hold strong and wait it out………
& You will surface again……
