Ways To Celebrate Professional Success.
Firstly there is reward in a job well done. The people who we did the work on behalf of will usually acknowledge this too. Colleagues can be invaluable in helping us recognise our achievements. There is nothing better than peer-recognition. These people know just what it took to make the project work.
Secondly there is the affirmation that comes from our boss or an authority figure who may reward us with praise or indeed financially. You may get offered promotion, or the chance to engage with so good CPD.
Thirdly there is supervision. This is a revaluation to me. What I envisaged as the thought-police is in actual fact a collegiate and nourishing relationship that is essential to my client base and indeed to the sanity of their Coach. We laugh, we problem-solve, we explore all 7 eyes of supervision and we celebrate.
As practitioners and as humans we often (by which I mean nearly always!) neglect to celebrate our achievements. We spend lots of time digging around in the difficulties, and whilst this is valid, we do need balance. We need to affirm ourselves and internalise all that we have done well and learned and risked and achieved as well.
Why? Because this nourishes us. Because this is the way we show our clients how they too can reward themselves……. We must role model for each other, jettison any notion of ‘pride before a fall’, and show everyone how it’s done.

It’s onerous to seek out educated people on this matter, however you sound like you know what you’re speaking about! Thanks
