Business Coaching for the Entrepreneur

One of the time things that I both love & hate about running a business is that there is always something new to learn… I love it when I have time. I can Certainly resent it when I don’t! But, either way, my work day is never ever static. That’s a good thing overall because I have a low boredom Threshold and can err on the disruptive if left to my own devices for too long….

What I realise now, and this might apply to you too, is that I was already business-minded. I just hadn’t named that collection of skills and experience as a business identity. I think that perhaps women rarely do.

Over the last two decades, I had covered a lot of the elements of business-building without ever realising. I had worked in advertising, I had worked in marketing, I had worked as a team leader and in Human Resources. I had managed projects, budgets and delivered on deadline. I had worked in training and development and community projects. I had worked in tech, across a wide variety of sectors and with diverse groups of people.

Add motherhood on top of that (now there’s a job that helps you find your edges!), and I had proven that I had the tenacity to keep showing up!

So building blocks were all there. I just needed to employ them on my own behalf. In order to do that I needed to know what purpose my enterprise served. When I knew it wasn’t just me promoting me, and that this endeavour was in service of something greater than just myself or my income, then it is when promotions become easy.
