Career Coaching: CVs. I’m often asked, “Will you help me update my CV?” Seems logical — As a career coach, I should provide this service, right?
However, on the whole, my answer is ‘No’.
Why is that?
It’s because your CV is merely the tip of the iceberg of WHO you bring to your professional world.
And, unless you have done the deep dive to identify ALL you bring from past experiences and all that arrives with you in the here and now. Unless you dream of how to best use ALL you bring with you, it is impossible to truly represent YOU by tweaking your CV.
And, if you have done this deep dive and you know your ‘why’ and exactly what you bring In support of this vision, then you can easily update your own CV WAY better than me. You know EXACTLY what you are looking for and what qualifies you to be where you want to be

You don’t need me to update your CV. You DO need to understand why you need to use your CV in the first place. This way, you can design your CV in service of this cause. YOU are the best person to represent the richness of your life and work experience – what you need to know first is what the PURPOSE of the exercise is.
