Career Coaching Fears
When I asked about career coaching fears, a client said these words:
“My Fear Was Thinking that a career coach would be part of the corporate culture”
Isn’t it interesting the conclusions we come to before we have even spoken to someone? This is no judgment of my gorgeous client – This is an Observation of a thought process I bet we all engage in!
We join the dots, we make judgements and assumptions. The brain has a negativity bias that means that we are wired to look for danger first – and when we look without checking out the reality, we really WILL find it!
And then, we really need to check out the truth.
I don’t believe I can do merely corporate coaching if I tried. I don’t beeline even ‘corporate coaching’ actually has anything to do with The Corporation the person might be working for.
Career Coaching Fears
The only career coaching I can do is Human-Coaching: We show up and take a deep dive together to see what we find. It’s a delight, sometimes it’s dark. Always it’s alchemical, and transformation occurs.
Some people choose to remain working in corporate, some choose to go way off-piste. Many have never and indeed will never work for a corporation at all.
I work with The Humans and not the organisation. Our work will enable The Human to navigate the system they are in, but this work always lies within the container of the relationship.
The only agenda I have is that each person leaves with a fulfilling career route map in from of them. I have no attachment to how that might look or what context it sits within.
