Career Coaching: Are You “Quiet Quitting”?

HR Review Sept 16th 2022. And, this article suggests The Remedies for ‘Quiet Qitting’ for HR professionals to apply as being:
‘Employee recognition, supporting employee wellbeing and boundary setting”
If you are recognising that you are Quietly Quitting… is it REALLY because the HR team haven’t asked how you’re feeling that day? Or, Is there something MUCH deeper that you seek???
.
From the perspective of this career coach, whenever someone is quietly, silently, slipping away, it’s because they no longer believe in what they are doing.
.
People are not working to rule because they want to make a statement. They have not quit investing any more of themselves in their work than they absolutely have to because they feel their achievements are unseen. — What You are doing is silently unhooking yourselves because work have become Purposeless, impact-less, and pointless.
.
“they no longer believe in what they are doing.”
You are no longer onboard the bus. You have decided that you need the Income but that you will invest your energies in the rest of your life, using your job to fuel the good stuff. Wise Decision, in the Short term.

Career Coaching: Quiet Quitting
And, this strategy has a kickback in the long run. Yes, there is the off-chance that your hobby, given more of you attention could become you main income …. HOWEVER, for most of you who are quietly quitting, this is as good as it gets.
.
The problem with spending 39 hours of every week, robotically doing what’s asked of whilst simultaneously being totally disengaged is that you WILL begin to die on the inside when you stay stuck in this place for too long.
.
What you have is a core values conflict. This conflict is already present. Taking your energy away from the conflict WILL ameliorate this for a bit. However, in the long run, spending 39 hours of all of your weeks in a conflicted place will make you unhappy. It can also make you sick. The dis-ease in you psyche can manifest in your body too.
.
This conflict will impact the good things in your life. Because, when your soul is dying on the inside, everything becomes dulled and pointless in the end.
.
Quiet Quitting is a great strategy for redressing the imbalance of joy in your life. However, it is ONLY a short-term strategy
.
This desire to do Quiet Quitting is not going to be solved by any of HR’s interventions. Quiet Quitting is not going to be solved by you doing more sports or recreational things outside of work in the long run.
.
The time you free up by Quietly Quitting is much better used in the short term to NAVIGATE YOUR EXIT STRATEGY and work out where you DO want to be instead.
