Employability Skills Training

Do you really need employability skills training? Or can you do the excavation work yourself to reveal your own skills and capabilities? My guess is that you are absolutely able to do just that. However, be wary, for we live in a consumer society. When we are encouraged to, and indeed are at home with, ‘buying solutions’ it can be easy to fall into the trap of believing that someone else is going to do this work for us. It seems easier to believe that someone else has a solution for us. That includes bonafide educational institutions and career coaches too.

The bad news is that only you can do this work.  The good news is also that only you can do this work, for, once you have mustered the courage to do it, the results will be securely embedded in your consciousness. When you are really secure in your skills and capabilities then this will give you confidence. When you have confidence you can do things professional that you never believed possible.

So, while there are no shortcuts to this work – you do just have to do it for yourself, the results of having self-genrated the answers, are profound. These skills are yours and you know it! So it is worth resisting the illusion that anyone else can sell you your career solution. Take the time to reflect and harvest all the skills capabilities and attributes that you already own. Don’t let anyone sell you something you already have……. Perhaps instead you could create an environment that serves as your own employability skills training. The information is all in there, you just need to learn how to access it.
