Employability Test Questions
Here are some employability test questions from Kent University. Feel free to see how you score:
The question I usually forgot to ask in the past was “Do I want to past their test?”. Do I rate this business or organisation and do I want to work for them? What other choices do I have….?
One of my many skills (get me!), that I have discovered the I have, is the ability to read the needs of others. I can, within minutes of starting a conversation, or reading a job spec, refine what is needed and identify jus how I can supply that demand. What I neglected to address in this equation was ask myself whether I wanted to meet this need. Just because I could read the need and just because i could meet that need did not mean I should meet that need. It finally began to dawn on me that if I didn’t want to meet the need in the first place that then I might not be able to sustain meeting that need in the long term.
It took me years of behaving in this manner before I was willing to step off the escalator and reflect on the reason that so many roles or organisations only sat right with me for a little while. It took years of stretching myself into other organisation’s job-shapes before I released why i kept ending up with cramp.
I took years for me to begin to factor my own professional needs into the equations and thus question whether businesses and organisations passed MY employability test.
Never leave yourself out of the equation when wondering if you will pass at interview or qualify in an employability test. The needs and values of you and your chosen organisation need to meet in the middle. This meeting will only happen when there you have clarity regarding your professional needs. Then and only then can you see if the business is fit to employ you! They need to pass your employability test questions too.
