Career Coaching: I Don’t Believe …
Career Coaching: I Don’t Believe in one-off coaching sessions with clients where we have no pre-existing relationship.
Why? Because there rarely are there quick-fixes to people’s professional challenges
What looks like a behavioural issue in an interview is always linked to something deeper in the person who’s not performing as they wish they could.
Getting to the root of things means the symptom becomes redundant and disappears of its own accord — Thus, I contract a three-month coaching journey. However, I am frequently asked:
“What will I have by the end of three months.”
The short answer is that in three months’ time, you will know WHO you are, WHAT you want, and WHY you want it.
We will explore what is and is NOT working in your professional environment. This is essential as a place to kick off from so you can dream in what you DO seek.
Once again, we will repeat The process with behaviours. When we can see what you and others have been doing and saying at work that currently makes you unhappy, you can easily identify what you’d like to be doing and saying instead.
Then we do a deep dive into your capabilities. Northern Europeans are especially bad at claiming their brilliances so we WILL be exploring your skills, personal attributes and the wealth of knowledge you already have. Most people are absolutely mind-blown when they see what they already have.
Then we explore your beliefs and values. We simply supplant those below that no longer serve you. As for your core values – that makes decision-making really easy – if the job you are applying for doesn’t and never will honour your core values, you can drop those ‘shoulds’ and not even touch the application form.
Career Coaching: I Don’t Believe …
And you will grow such DEEP belief in yourself in this process — Exploring your past identities will show us exactly what you will not compromise in your next iteration. You can say you know yourself well by this point in the process.
And when we get to your ‘Purpose’ questions, when we establish your “WHY”, then it’s easy to market your own capabilities in service of something greater than yourself – takes all the arrogance out of the process.
Then we call in your five-year vision – by this point, you will be ready to name what it is that you want, need and deserve professionally.
The final piece of this process is to fully plot out the practical steps you need to take to anchor your vision in the real world.
Comprehensive work that leads to alignment throughout your entire being
This, THIS, is how you will show up to an interview well!
Takes commitment in time, effort and money. It takes courage to face yourself; however, you’re not alone. This is an investment that pays of for a lifetime.
